About Us
Synonymous with professionalism, expertise and quality, we set ourselves apart from other training and consulting firms. We’re able to recognize and understand our client’s specific needs. And our ability to know how to use QuickBooks for both business management and bookkeeping gives us a unique perspective when working with all types of clients, from contractors and nonprofits to professional services, wholesale/distribution, retail and more.
About Monica Mitchell Muir – QuickBooks ProAdvisor.
I developed a passion for education at a young age. I received my undergraduate degree from Penn State. I later went on to North Carolina State University to earn a Masters degree in Adult and Community College Education. Today I am an Advanced Certified ProAdvisor® for QuickBooks, as well as a Certified ProAdvisor for QuickBooks Point of Sale (POS) and QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions. In addition, I am also an Intuit Solution Provider.
Before I started Muir & Associates, I provided business software support to the small business community of southeastern Pennsylvania. During those years of working with business software, I taught myself how to use QuickBooks, giving me a real understanding for how my customers feel. After I started Muir & Associates in 2004, I started earning my various QuickBooks certifications. I have worked with hundreds of small business owners and/or their accounting teams to help them get the most out of this software. I also taught both beginning and advanced QuickBooks at Hagerstown Community College. I am happy to say I have enjoyed many positive reviews from students and clients alike.
I have an “old fashioned” work ethic… which means I go out of my way to make sure the training I do with my clients is practical and the BEST use of their time. I focus my attention on customizing every program for each client so that I am able to help them understand and analyze their financial reports, while also assisting them in finding resources and referrals for their businesses.
Ultimately, my goal is to help my clients become more profitable.
George L Muir, CPA - Advisor
I am an advisor at Muir & Associates and I have more than 40 years of accounting experience. I have been the Chief Financial Officer at four different organizations and an auditor and consultant for a small local and large international public accounting firm.
As CFO, I handled key components, such as budgets (preparing, forecasting and reporting), monthly financial statements (which are frequently presented to boards and other pertinent agencies), financial analysis (buy or lease, refinance or not, invest or pay down loans, etc.) and working with auditors for the annual audit. Other important areas, as CFO, include billing, payroll, fixed assets, cash management, tax reporting, cost accounting, insurance and employee benefits.
My years as a CFO enable me to see the big picture yet understand the detail needed to reach a desired goal. Because of my experience and my ability to assess strengths and weaknesses of the financial picture, I am able to recommend ways to improve operations and offer our clients the insight they need regarding how to avoid problems before they happen. While I understand problems are unavoidable at times, when they do occur, my expertise helps organizations get out of the trouble they may face during challenging time |
